NSF Grant Interview Project

This National Science Foundation-sponsored qualitative interview study investigates factors affecting the career and educational choices of under-represented groups (e.g., women, ethnic minorities) in certain fields of science, technology and engineering. The project emphasizes understanding social and cultural influences on such choices, through interviews with U.S. and international undergraduate and graduate students in these disciplines.

Applicants must be reliable, responsible, and self-motivated, with an interest in understanding issues of diversity. Students who have a GPA of 3.0 or greater and a background or strong interest in gender studies, and students who are willing and able to participate in a one hour NSF lab meeting are preferred. Interested applicants should email Molly McLaren (molly.mclaren@gmail.com) and Silvia Sara Canetto (silvia.canetto@gmail.com). Please include your CV and one reference. Please also submit a brief statement about your interest in and/or experience with gender studies, interviewing, and qualitative research.
